Happy September, everyone, the unofficial festival month of Memphis.
Currently, we're focusing on two parties in particular: the Cooper-York Festival on Sept. 17 and Gonerfest XIII later in the month.
We're also celebrating this month with our first foray into canned beer and a few limited release beers.
Gonerfest XIII Session India Pale will hit the shelves in 12 ounce cans around the middle of the month in support of our neighborhood record store, Goner Records.
Six packs will available be at the tap room and a few of our accounts throughout Shelby County, so keep an eye out for it. When it's gone, it's gone.
In addition to this accessible IPA, we'll have Gonerbrau, a cream ale, at some of the Gonerfest shows and the tap room.
The good people at Goner Records are rewarding us by putting on a show at the brewery on Sept. 30, 3-6 p.m. with LSDOGS, Trampoline Team, Kool 100s, and Pity performing.
In running news, we're supporting the Cooper-Young Festival Friday 4-Miler with kegs of an easy-drinking ale, Mile 5, on Sept. 16.
After that, we're putting on the 3rd Annual Cooper-York Festival 9 a.m.-7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17 at the brewery. It's the same day and street as the Cooper-Young Festival, but it's a completely different festival so make sure you don't get confused.
We'll some small batch beers as well as performances by the Tinglers, New Ballet Ensemble, the Velvet Dogs, and Devil Train.
El Mero Taco and Sushi Jimmi will on site, upping the game on festival food.
The tap room fun doesn't stop there, as the Comma Comedians return for Drafts and Laughs, Thursday, Sept. 22 at 7 p.m.
We're also hitting the road on Sept. 9 for Art on Tap at the Dixon Gallery & Gardens and Sept. 24 for the Collierville Brewfest.
That's about all we have planned for the month but keep checking in with us as we often do things which are unplanned.
