June is finally here and that means there's no turning back: it's going to be hot and it's going to be hot for a while. Get used to it. That said, we've found that cold beer helps beat the heat. It also turns out we have a brewery. Funny how that works out.
Although summer has started, we're not going to be sitting poolside drinking. We're going to be doing a lot of other things and drinking instead, starting this weekend.
Here's the agenda:
We'll be at Hammer and Ale on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. with a fresh keg of Greenswarden IPA, a beer full of Mosaic, Equinox, Cascade and Herkules hops. We'll also have plenty of giveaways and, of course, free beer knowledge and discourse. Come down and have a pint while meeting the people who brew your beer.
Saturday, we're launching a Corn Hole Tournament starting at 2 p.m. It will be 32 teams with two people on each team. It's free to play with prizes to the victors, including a $50 gift certificate for first prize, a $25 gift card for second place, and a $10 gift certificate for third place. There are only a handful of spots left, so register here.
If you can't make it to the tap room Saturday, then join us at Overton Park for A Day of Merrymaking. This year's event features a beer garden and we're bringing kegs of Greenswarden IPA and Lucid Kolsch for your drinking enjoyment.
For the fourth year, A Day of Merrymaking at Overton Park brings food, art, and music to the Greensward. The hot air balloon will be returning, and they'll have music by Chinese Connection Dub Embassy and Mariachi Guadalajara.
A dozen food trucks and more than 40 local vendors will be on hand showcasing the best of Memphis. Oh, and beer, cold, cold beer.
That's all we have left for this weekend, but watch this space and our social media sites for more announcements about events throughout June. We've got a lot planned.
