Now that we're well into 2016, it's time to start dropping those New Year's resolutions by enjoying as much food and drink as you so desire. And if you're going to abandon those good intentions, you can do it while supporting a worthy local cause. That's our thought anyway.
For example, we're hosting the Half Pints for Half Pints at the brewery on Feb. 6. This will be the second year for this event, a fundraiser for Peabody Elementary School, our neighborhood school.
From 7 to 10 p.m., you can enjoy large helpings of food from several Cooper-Young businesses.
Aldo's Pizza Pies, Celtic Crossing, Central BBQ, Mulan and Sweet Grass are donating food to the event while Goner Records will be supplying the tunes. We, of course, will be supplying the beer.
Christian Brothers University, the Cooper-Young Business Association, the Cooper-Young Community Association, Good Golly Photography, InCity Realty, and Ray Rico Freelance sponsor Half Pints for Half Pints as well.
In addition to food and drink, we'll also have the Grizzlies game on the big screen of our new event room.
Tickets, which are $50 for individuals and $85 for couples, are available at www.halfpints.org.
If you haven't had your fill on Saturday, feel free to join us the next day, as we're extending our tap room hours on Super Bowl Sunday.
We'll have the game on with sound on the big projections screen in our event room.
We'll be open 1-10 p.m. just for the big game. Riko's Kickin' Chicken will be parked outside from 1-8 p.m., cooking chicken wings (and other delicacies) to complete the festivities.
